The Age of Bronze, Rodin’s 1876 masterpiece, embodies the human awakening to life through an athletic male nude in a stretched pose. This bronze casting with a brown patina, created using the lost-wax process by Strassacker, measures approximately 104 cm in height and weighs 25 kg. Signed A. Rodin, it belongs to a limited edition of 99 numbered and dated copies. Certificate 99/23 attests to its authenticity. The composition captivates with the power of its expression of surrender: the right heel lifted, the raised arm resting on the head, the left leg anchored to the base, and the clenched fist of the rear arm. The closed eyes and slightly parted mouth reveal an intense vulnerability. The subtle play of light on the musculature creates a multifaceted visual appeal, transforming this sculpture into a meditation on the human condition.
