A highly rare 17th-century Italian painting. This oil on canvas captures the portrait of a young scholar or artist with exceptional painterly mastery. Every detail is rendered with finesse: from the original hat to the quill delicately held between the subject's fingers.
The work has undergone a respectful restoration, including lining, replacement of the stretcher, and meticulous retouching of small areas. The painting is housed in a richly carved and gilded modern frame, beautifully ornamented, which enhances the piece as a whole.
With its ideal vertical proportions, this painting fits harmoniously into any room in the home. Its strong character and the quality of its execution make it a remarkable collector's item.
