"Birds of Paradise" mirror by Mithé Espelt, an iconic piece of 1970s French ceramics. This captivating mirror is adorned with two birds with pink and purple plumage, surrounded by golden leaves and pink flowers on a delicate sandy background.
Crafted in relief-glazed earthenware, the mirror plays on harmonious shades of purple, pink, and white, enriched by crackled gold details that add an authentic vintage dimension. The back is covered with replacement green felt.
Mithé Espelt (born 1923), a ceramic artist from Lunel in the south of France, created this work around 1968. An essential signature of 20th-century French ceramic design.
