Exceptional bronze sculpture depicting a fantastic and grotesque creature, inspired by Arent van Bolten, a follower of Hieronymus Bosch. This rare piece once functioned as an oil lamp or incense burner.
Dating likely from the 19th century or earlier, this bronze casting displays a very beautiful patina and is in very good condition. The bronze measures 17.5 cm in height and rests on a 3 cm black stone base (15.5 x 10 cm). Total height: 20.5 cm.
The base shows a few minor chips, visible in the photographs. An exceptional piece for collectors of fine antique art and historical curiosities.
