Exceptional solid silver (800/1000) ciborium, probably Belgian, dating from circa 1880. This prestigious piece measures 57 cm in height by 19 cm in width and weighs 1794 grams.

Richly adorned, this late Baroque-style ciborium displays exceptional religious iconography. The base features angel heads and wings, wheat ears, and grapevines. The central node is decorated with three angels with lilies and an anchor symbolizing hope. The cup displays the Holy Family and Eucharistic symbols, while the lid honors the apostles Peter and Paul as well as John the Baptist.

Biblical scenes enrich the whole: the Resurrection of Christ, Jesus comforting the weeping women with Calvary in the background, and the Entombment. Cabochons, faceted glasswork, and natural stones complete this sumptuous decoration.

Crowned with an ornate cross and the Lamb of God, this ciborium bears Dutch import marks (1814-1893) and the mention of the priest FJP Van Etten, attesting to its provenance from the Amsterdam region.

Remarkable condition. Large-scale cathedral model.
