German Model 1916 transition helmet, reused in 1940 with authentic features from that period. The tricolor decal was scraped off according to 1940 regulations, with traces remaining visible under the period camouflage.
Complete equipment including its rare first-type chinstrap with a sliding buckle and aluminum quick-release fastener. The aluminum Model 31 liner is original and conforms to manufacturing standards.
The camouflage is typical of coastal batteries and reflects the conditions of the Battle of Normandy. An authentic historical piece for discerning collectors.
