Magnificent 19th-century solid silver and silver-gilt liturgical chalice, crafted by the silversmiths Favier Frères. The bowl and base feature finely chased decoration depicting crosses, grape clusters, and foliate friezes accented with cabochons (garnet or ruby). The paten, engraved with the letters IHS, bears the Minerva hallmark attesting to the quality of the silver (first standard).
In good overall condition, the entire chalice—bowl, base, and paten—is hallmarked, guaranteeing its authenticity and period provenance.
Dimensions: base 14.7 cm in diameter, bowl 9.8 cm, paten 14.7 cm. Total height 24.7 cm. Weight 546 g.
A piece of religious furnishing of great finesse, ideal for collectors of antique silverware.
