17th-century liturgical chalice, a piece of goldsmithing from the Hesse region of Germany. Crafted in repoussé copper, partially gilded and silvered, this Baroque chalice combines technique and spiritual refinement.
The oval, quadrilobed base supports a slender stem adorned with a gilded knot highlighted by a delicate twisted border . Smooth gilded surfaces alternate harmoniously with silver acanthus leaf relief ornamentation. The knop repeats these floral motifs, complemented by beaded medallions, while the cup displays a beautiful vermeil patina.
This centuries-old specimen retains its remarkable integrity with minimal wear. Dimensions: 23 cm in height and 15.5 cm in diameter. An exceptional piece for the collector of antique religious art.
