Superb second half of the 19th-century wall-mounted holy water stoup in veined white marble, richly adorned with gilt bronze and polychrome cloisonné enamels.
The rectangular plaque (32 x 21 cm) is decorated with a finely pierced frame featuring foliate scrolls and arabesques in turquoise, deep blue, green, and red enamels. In the center, a medallion depicts the Immaculate Conception on a gold background, set within an enameled ornamental frame surmounted by a cross.
The lower gilt-bronze basin is also decorated with enamels. Likely French workshop, circa 1860-1890.
A high-quality domestic devotional object. Good general condition.
