Beautiful 18th-century miniature depicting a refined interior scene. A man enters a room where three women are busy with their own activities: one is drinking, another smoking, and the last is eating. A lively and elegant composition, perfectly executed in the style of the "Précieuses."
The painting is set within a chiseled bronze frame and protected by flat glass. The fine bronze work beautifully highlights this miniature. A trace of a signature is visible on the left side. The movable bail allows for easy hanging.
The details of the hairstyles and clothing reflect the late 17th and early 18th-century period. A harmonious and well-composed piece, executed with great finesse.
Dimensions of the frame with bail: 12.6 x 10.6 cm. View: 11.4 x 6.2 cm.
