Rare set of 32 revolutionary playing cards from the LEFER house, dating from 1793-1794. This historical set bears witness to the French Revolutionary period with its illustrations characteristic of the era.
The set shows signs of authenticity and use: some cards are missing their backs, the reverses bear handwritten annotations as these cards were used as index cards for literary deposits. Not all cards bear the card maker's name, which is common for this period.
Dimensions: 8.5 x 5.5 cm.
Despite some natural imperfections related to its age (wear, losses), this set constitutes a fine collector's item for enthusiasts of history and antique games. A precious testimony to 18th-century cartographic craftsmanship.
