Remarkable Louis XVI style barometer-thermometer dating from the late 18th century. This exceptional piece combines functionality and elegance with its authentic measuring instruments.
The pediment is adorned with finely carved baskets of flowers, an emblematic motif of the Louis XVI period celebrating nature and antiquity. The structure combines gilded wood and antique green paint, enriched with laurel garlands, ribbon bows, and acanthus leaves at the bottom of the dial.
The thermometer bears the inscription Réaumur, the temperature scale in use in France at that time. The barometer displays classic variations with its original graduations. Both instruments are in proper working order.
